As a result of Auditor General Jack Wagner’s scathing report about Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law website, Rep. Sue Helm (R-Susquehanna Township) today announced that the House Republican Policy Committee will hold a hearing to review the law that requires sexual offenders to register their location, employer and other important details on the website. The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, in Susquehanna Township High School’s auditorium. The school is located at 3500 Elmerton Ave. in Harrisburg.

During a press conference with the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS today in the state Capitol, Rep. Sue Helm (R-Susquehanna Township) joined in opposition to the governor’s budget proposal that would reduce the state’s sales tax from 6 percent to 4 percent and expand it to 74 items that are currently exempt.  As proposed, the sales tax would be charged on items related to real estate transactions.
