HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) today announced that she is once again hosting a special event to recognize the service and sacrifice of local veterans on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the National Civil War Museum, 1 Lincoln Circle in Harrisburg
The deadline to reserve a seat at the free event, which includes lunch, is Friday, October 26, 2018. Reservations can be made online at SueHelm.net or by calling her Capitol office (717-787-1230) or her district office in Millersburg (717-692-0833).
“Our local veterans will find this special event to be a memorable experience,” said Helm. “I am pleased to be able to honor each of them for their service to the nation.”
Helm also announced that Congressman Scott Perry (R-PA) has accepted her invitation to be the keynote speaker at the event. Perry is a brigadier general in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and was deployed to Iraq in 2009 for 13 months.
The event is limited to only those veterans and their spouses, or one guest, who live in the 104th Legislative District. The district includes Dauphin, East Hanover Township, Halifax, Halifax Township, Jackson Township, Jefferson Township, Middle Paxton Township, Millersburg, Penbrook, Reed Township, Rush Township, Susquehanna Township, part of Swatara Township, Upper Paxton Township and Wayne Township in Dauphin County; and East Hanover Township and North Annville Township in Lebanon County.
Each veteran in attendance will receive a commemorative pin and certificate.
