Free Tax Filing Assistance Available to Area Seniors, says Helm
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin) today advised seniors that tax filing assistance is available locally at no charge through the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Tax-Aide program. All sites offer tax form preparation and e-filing of federal and state income taxes on a walk-in basis only. The services are provided by IRS-certified volunteer preparers.
“I encourage any of our older residents in need of some help completing their tax forms for 2012 to take advantage of this free service,” said Helm. “There are two locations available locally, with convenient hours that will be open right up until the tax filing deadline of April 15.”
