Helm to Host Senior Citizens Expo Sept. 6 in Susquehanna Township
HARRISBURG – In her continuing effort to keep older constituents informed about programs and services that improve the quality of their lives, state Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin) today announced that she will once again be hosting a Senior Citizens Expo in Susquehanna Township. The free event will take place on Friday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second floor community center of the Giant Food Store, 2300 Linglestown Road in Susquehanna Township.

“As the state representative for the 104th District, it is part of my job to keep local seniors informed about the many helpful state programs and community services that are designed to benefit them,” said Helm. “My annual senior expos provide that valuable information and so much more.”

Helm’s senior expo will feature dozens of exhibitors from non-profit agencies; local, state and federal governments; and local businesses who will provide information on benefits and services available to older Pennsylvanians on a wide range of topics, including health care; insurance; nutrition and exercise; fire safety; financial planning; fraud protection; government; hunting and fishing; and personal safety.

Helm is also pleased to announce that Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick is scheduled to speak at 11:45 a.m.

In addition, door prizes and refreshments will be offered. Winners of the door prizes will be announced at 11:30 a.m. Participants must be present to win.

“I encourage all seniors, their families and caregivers to attend this event so they can learn about the various programs and services that are available to them in our area,” said Helm. “This information can sometimes be difficult and time consuming to obtain. My expos make it easier and more convenient by bringing service providers and seniors together in one place at the same time.”

Any seniors who are unable to attend the Susquehanna Township expo are invited to Helm’s Senior Citizens Expo in Halifax on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the at the Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association building, 31 Bunker Hill Road in Halifax.

For more information, please call Helm’s Susquehanna Township office at (717) 651-0100.
