Helm to Recognize Local Veterans at Special Event
9/24/2013

HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin) today announced that she is once again hosting a brunch to recognize the service and sacrifice of local war veterans. The event will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the National Civil War Museum, 100 Concert Drive in Harrisburg. Each veteran in attendance will receive a special commemorative pin.

“The Veterans Appreciation Brunch is always one of the highlights of the year for me,” said Helm. “I am honored to be able to host this special event to publically thank our local veterans for their service to the nation.”

Helm also is pleased to announce that U.S. Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) has accepted her invitation to be the keynote speaker at the event. Perry began serving as the congressman from the 4th Congressional District earlier this year. He previously served three terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Perry is a colonel in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and was deployed to Iraq in 2009 for 13 months.

The brunch will be complimentary and is limited to only those veterans who live in the 104th Legislative District, which includes Berrysburg, Dauphin, Elizabethville, Gratz, Halifax, Halifax Township, Jackson Township, Jefferson Township, Lykens, Lykens Township, Middle Paxton Township, Mifflin Township, Millersburg, Paxtang, Penbrook, Pillow, Reed Township, Rush Township, Susquehanna Township, part of Swatara Township, Upper Paxton Township, Washington Township, Wayne Township, Wiconisco Township, Williams Township and Williamstown.

If the veteran is disabled and brought to the event by a guest, the guest may stay for brunch. The deadline to make a reservation is Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Reservations can be made online at SueHelm.net.

Please call Helm’s district office in Elizabethville (717-362-1119) or Susquehanna Township (717-651-0100) for more information.
