Helm, Tobash Open District Offices in Northern Dauphin County
HARRISBURG – In an effort to better serve constituents in northern Dauphin County, state Reps. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) and Mike Tobash (R-Schuylkill/Dauphin) are each opening a district office in the area. Changes to the boundaries of state legislative districts went into effect on Dec. 1, which resulted in the need to establish the new locations. Redistricting occurs every decade to reflect shifts in population.

Helm’s new district office is located at 260 Market St. in Millersburg and will be in full operation after the New Year from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Because there is only one staff person in the office, it is recommended that residents call to schedule an appointment. The phone number for the new office is (717) 692-0833.

“One of the most important aspects of my job as a state representative is to offer quality service to our constituents,” said Helm. “I am pleased to be able to continue providing that service to northern Dauphin County from our new location in Millersburg, which is conveniently located in the downtown business district. Residents are welcome to stop by for assistance, but it is recommended they call to schedule an appointment.”

Helm’s office in Elizabethville has been closed because the municipality is no longer included in the 104th District, which she represents.

Beginning on Monday, Jan. 5, Tobash will open a new, part-time district office at the Williamstown Borough Building, located at 200 South West St., in Williamstown, to best serve residents living in the Dauphin County portion of the 125th District. This office will be open Monday through Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended evening hours on Wednesday, when the office will be open until 6 p.m.

Tobash reminds residents that his full-time district office will remain located at 988 East Main St. in Schuylkill Haven. The Williamstown office does not have phone service yet, so he asks residents with questions and concerns to continue to call the Schuylkill Haven office at (570) 385-8235.

Some of the services provided by the district offices include helping residents obtain driver licenses, vehicle registrations and other Pennsylvania Department of Transportation forms, locating birth and death certificates, assisting senior citizens with Property Tax and Rent Rebate applications and PACE/PACENET forms, providing students with applications for PHEAA grants and loans, supplying copies of state legislation, and offering a wide variety of informative brochures.
