Helm to Host Three Concealed Carry Seminars
HARRISBURG – In her continuing effort to better inform area gun owners regarding Pennsylvania’s firearm laws, Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) is hosting three concealed carry seminars in the coming weeks in the area.
The seminars will be conducted by Attorney Matthew Menges of York County, who has held similar events statewide, including several with Helm.
The dates, times and locations of the free events are as follows:
• Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 6-8 p.m.
Ono Fire Company
10805 Jonestown Road, Ono
• Wednesday, April 6, 2016, 6-8 p.m.
Pennsylvania Game Commission Headquarters
2001 Elmerton Ave., Harrisburg
• Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 6-8 p.m.
Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association Building
31 Bunker Hill Road, Halifax
“These seminars allow gun owners to learn exactly what their rights are under Pennsylvania law and ask any questions they may have about them,” said Helm. “Matt Menges is an expert on these issues and explains them in an easy-to-understand way. He will focus on how to safely interact with police when carrying a firearm and the legal aspects of the Castle Doctrine, which allows a homeowner to use deadly force if necessary when threatened by an armed intruder.”
Seating is limited. Participants are asked to please make a reservation by calling one of Helm’s offices at (717) 787-1230 (Capitol), (717) 651-0100 (Susquehanna Township) or (717) 692-0833 (Millersburg). They can also register online at
