Trout Stocking Schedules Available, says Helm
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin) announced today that 2014 Pennsylvania trout stocking schedules are now available at her district offices in preparation for opening day of trout season in April. The schedule can also be found online at

Opening day for trout season statewide is currently scheduled for Saturday, April 12. There will also be a regional opening day on Saturday, March 29, in southeastern Pennsylvania, including Dauphin County.

A total of 731 streams and 124 lakes will be stocked as a part of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s (PFBC) 2014 adult trout stocking program. Stocking occurs year-round, though most anglers typically view March as the official start of stocking season.

The PFBC will stock nearly 3.2 million adult trout in Pennsylvanian rivers and streams that are open to the public for fishing. An additional one million trout will be stocked by private contractors across the Commonwealth.

Helm’s district offices are located at 2090 Linglestown Road, Suite 100, in Susquehanna Township and 16 E. Main St. in Elizabethville. They are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
