School Breakfast Initiative Awards Grants to Schools in 104th District, Helm Says
5/15/2019
HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) today announced that several school districts in the 104th District have received grants from the governor’s School Breakfast Initiative. The school districts and their respective grant amounts are as follows:

• Central Dauphin School District: $17,523.50.
• Halifax Area School District: $3,170.
• Annville-Cleona School District: $11,034.12.
• Eastern Lebanon County School District: $5,000.

Schools use these grants to implement alternative student breakfast programs, or to expand existing ones.

“I am very happy to see these grants be awarded to schools in the 104th District,” said Helm. “Studies have shown that students learn better having eaten a healthy breakfast. These grants will ensure that all students will have breakfast made available to them, allowing them to learn at their full potential.”

A full list of grant recipients can be seen on the Department of Education’s website at  education.pa.gov.
