Helm Announces State Grant for Swimming Pool Renovation Project in Dauphin County
HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) today announced the awarding of a $100,000 state grant for a swimming pool renovation project in Middle Paxton Township, Dauphin County. Helm played a key role in securing the funding.

Specifically, the grant, which was made available through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program, will be used by the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg to improve the condition of its main swimming pool and adjacent baby pool at its Green Hills Swim Club. The project includes the refinishing of the pools and resurfacing of the surrounding area.

“I fully support this project, which will improve safety for swimmers and prolong the life of both pools,” said Helm. “The pools play an important role in the federation’s annual summer camps for children, including many from low-income families.”

The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
