Helm, DiSanto to Honor Vietnam-Era Veterans in March
HARRISBURG – Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin/Lebanon) and Sen. John DiSanto (R-Dauphin/Perry) will co-host a special ceremony to honor area veterans of the Vietnam War on Friday, March 29, in Harrisburg. The event will take place at 9 a.m. at Widener University School of Law, 3800 Vartan Way.

“I am excited about the opportunity to recognize and honor our Vietnam-era veterans,” said Helm. “It is only fitting that we host such a ceremony in observance of the 50th anniversary commemoration of the Vietnam War.”

Helm and DiSanto are pleased to announce that Maj. Gen. Anthony Carrelli, adjutant general of Pennsylvania, will be the event’s keynote speaker. In addition, a 50-year commemorative lapel pin will be presented to those veterans in attendance.

“As we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, it is important to take this opportunity to show our appreciation for the Americans who served on active duty during these wartime years,” said DiSanto. “I am honored to join Rep. Helm in recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of these veterans on behalf of their country.”

Vietnam veterans who reside in the 104th Legislative District and/or the 15th Senatorial District, and who served in the U.S. Armed Forces between Nov. 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, regardless of location, are invited to attend.

Veterans must RSVP to attend the event and receive a pin. Please call Helm’s district office in Millersburg at (717) 692-0833 or register online at SueHelm.net.
